General information

Preliminary preparation
Cleansing the tooth
Cleanse tooth to be treated and the adjacent teeth using a brush and prophy paste which does not contain fluoride.

Selection of shade
Selection of shade should be made before isolation. The shade is ideally determined in broad daylight using the Vita Shade Guide. Shades reach their final tone 24 hours after couring.

Isolation of cavity (rubber dam)
Adequate isolation is absolutely necessary for achieving optimum results. The use of HYGIENIC/Roeko Dental Dams are recommended.

Matrix and inter-dental wedges
When working approximally, apply a thin matrix band. Fix the matrix proximally using interdental wedges.

Adhesive system
Apply adhesive system (e. g. Coltene One Coat Bond SL or A.R.T. BOND) according to the corresponding instructions for use.

Working time
Brilliant Flow is light sensitive and should not to be left too long under intensive light before curing, especially operatory light or sun light.

Polymerization
Brilliant Flow can be cured using all current curing lights (e.g. Coltolux LED)

Recommended exposure times:
Layer Thickness: 2 mm

> 500 mW / cm2

Brilliant Flow A1/B1 = 20 s
Brilliant Flow A2/B2 = 20 s
Brilliant Flow A3/D3 = 20 s
Brilliant Flow A3.5/B3 = 20 s
Brilliant Flow Super White = 20 s
Brilliant Flow Transparent = 20 s

Finishing
For the tooth preparation, appropriate rotary instruments and polishers from the Diatech / Alpen range can be used. Fluoridate all surfaces after completion.

Application of Brilliant Flow for direct restorations

Preparation of the cavity
When preparing the cavity, every effort possible should be made to use a technique that preserves tooth structure (principle of the Adhesive Restoration Technique)- Prepare enamel and dentin using 80 μm preparation diamonds and finish using 25 μm finishing diamonds. Bevelled enamel margins are recommended to increase the area of adhesion between tooth and filling material and thereby optimize the marginal seal.

Pulp Protection
Covering the areas close to the pulp with hard-set-ting calcium hydroxide cements using the spot technique protects the pulp against bacterial infiltration.

Application of Brilliant Flow
Apply the material using the mounted applicator tip directly into the cavity.

Application of Brilliant Flow for indirect restorations

Pretreat contact surfaces of cavity according to the corresponding manufacturer's instructions for use.

Application of Brilliant Flow
Dispense the material using the mounted applicator tip directly into the restoration or cavity preparation. Position restoration in place using gentle pressure.

Removal of excess material
Rough excess material (e.g. brush or spatula). Afterwards, hold restoration ith pressure in position and remove additional excess material with a spatula or a suitable instrument.

Polymerization
Recommended curing time: cure each side for 40 s.

Emergency measures
In the case of direct contact with the oral mucosa, rinsing with tap water is sufficient. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water (10 min), and consult an opthalmologist showing these instructions for use.

Note
Only supplied to dentists and dental laboratories or upon their instructions. Keep out of the reach of children! Should not be used after expiration date.
